Armed with nothing but rural broadband, an iPad, and a few weeks in solitude; I'm setting about building a personal site once again...
Why?
Flex Frontend Muscles - I've mostly been working in DevOps and Data Engineering over the last six months. Aside from ocasionally bumping some packages I haven't scratched the creative itch that comes with frontend dev in some time! Making time to build pretty things.
I Like Shouting At The Void - I want a space for my thoughts. Wait. No. I want a space where I own my thoughts. Whether its tech, videogames, living through a pandemic; I thought it might be nice to put my existence somewhere on the internet that is truly mine.
I Want To Spend Less Time On The Bird App - The obvious solution? Overengineered bird app proxy.
Haven't You Started This Before?
You know the score:
- Buy domain.
- Fire up starter app.
- Get busy.
- Domain expiry email.
- ...Repeat...
We've all been there. 🤷
So Whats Different This Time?
Big docker image. Push very slow. This is the perfect distraction.
So You're Gonna Actually Keep This Updated
I'm hopeful! But - stay tuned I guess... 🤷
